Lisa Ashley’s debut book, Oubliettes of Light was a finalist for the Sally Albiso Award, 2024. Lisa descends from Armenian genocide survivors. As a chaplain, she spent many years listening to and supporting incarcerated youth. She earned a BA in journalism from the University of Montana School of Journalism and a Master of Divinity from Seattle University. Her poems can be found in Willows Wept Review, Juniper, Blue Heron Review, The Healing Muse, Amsterdam Quarterly, Gyroscope, Thimble, Wild Greens, Last Leaves, and others. She was a Pushcart Prize nominee in 2021.

Lisa writes in her log home among the firs on Bainbridge Island, WA, having found her way there from rural New York by way of Montana and Seattle. She navigates her life and garden with physical limitations, help from her husband, and unlimited imagination.

Publisher

MoonPath Press (an imprint of Concrete Wolf) is dedicated to publishing the very best poetry collections by U.S. Northwest Pacific states authors —poets residing in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and extreme Northern California (north of San Francisco Bay).

We look for poetry manuscripts that feel more like cohesive collections than a potpourri of poems. We like poetry that invites the reader into the conversation.
